Colby Community College is accepting applications for a full-time Head Track and Field position at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I level as a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference member. Responsibilities include travel, recruiting, coaching, scheduling events, and budget preparation and compliance. Proven interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are required. The coach works closely with administrative offices and departments across campus. Rapport must be established, maintained, and promoted with students, faculty, and staff. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work with a diverse student population. Integrity, innovative thinking, and an understanding of the rural community college are necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Recruitment of student-athletes.
- Scheduling events for the track and field seasons.
- Fundraising
- Promoting the track and field program through involvement within the college and community.
- Submitting an approved annual operating budget.
- Scheduling team travel and practices in compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Guide student-athletes on a range of personal and educational issues.
- Monitoring the academic progress of athletes.
- Reporting information to the media with the CCC Sports Information Director.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required, and experience as a track and field coach required.
· Master’s degree and experience as a collegiate coach strongly preferred.
Salary/Wage:
$43,200-$56,900 depending on experience and credentials

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,000 students annually.
