Colby Community College is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as Grounds Supervisor to plan, supervise, and maintain Colby Community College's outdoor spaces, ensuring a safe, attractive, and functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, while living in a welcoming community that values agriculture, athletics, and small-town quality of life. The salary range for this position is between $21.50 - $23.10. The College offers up to $2,000 in relocation expense reimbursement to join our wonderful community.
The Opportunity
This is a 12-month, full-time, non-faculty position with an anticipated schedule of at least 40 hours per week. Evening, weekend work may be required due to College operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the care and maintenance of all campus grounds, including lawns, trees, shrubs, sprinkler system, and flowerbeds.
- Manage seasonal responsibilities such as snow removal, leaf collection, and storm cleanup to ensure safe access to campus.
- Implement landscaping plans that promote campus aesthetics and environmental sustainability.
- Oversee the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Oversee the use, care, and maintenance of groundskeeping equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Recommend and purchase supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for grounds operations.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment by staff through training and oversight.
- Clean, maintain, put down, and remove salt from the College grounds during winter storms.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED.
- At least one year of experience in custodial or maintenance operations is required.
- Associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Three years of experience in custodial or maintenance operations is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
- $21.50 - $23.10, based on experience and education.

Colby Community College
Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.
